World of Warcraft Raid Strategies – Ulduar Iron Council Normal Mode Raid Strategies

I’ve learned these World of Warcraft raid strategies from a guide I got and started using a while back. I figured I should share the World of Warcraft raid strategies for this particular encounter because I had a lot of trouble with it and I’m sure so did others. As a setup for the 10-man, I would suggest using two tanks and mostly ranged DPS.

This is the order in which the bosses should be killed. One of the tanks must keep the other away from the one that is currently being killed. Stormcaller Brundir most be kept as far away from the raid as possible because of an ability called Overload, a high damage 30 yard AoE spell.

World of Warcraft Raid Strategies – Steelbreaker

You need to move him back to the entrance of the room. The most important ability to watch out for is Fusion Punch. This is a very powerful direct damage which also casts a very powerful DoT. Healers need to watch for this and remove it as soon as possible. Occasionally, Mulgan will cast Runes of Power underneath Steelbreaker, which give him or anyone on top of it a 15% bonus to damage. The tank needs to watch for these and move Steelbreaker from them. The ranged DPS can get on top of them and take advantage of the bonus damage boost.

When Steelbreaker is dead, Brundir and Molgeim will get new abilities.

World of Warcraft Raid Strategies – Runemaster Molgeim

The tank should now move to Molgeim and get him back to the entrance of the room. Besides from the Rune of Power he can still casts, he can now spawn Rune of Death, a void zone which targets a specific player but deals AoE damage. The targeted player needs to move out of this as fast as possible, also, raid members should be spread out across the room. After he has taken 50.000 damage, he will cast Shield of Runes, a buff which increases his damage by 50%. This ability can be dispelled by Mages and even by Warriors with Shield Bash.

World of Warcraft Raid Strategies – Stormcaller Brundir

As you move to Brundir, he will cast Overload and Chain Lightining. Overload should be avoided by running out of it and Chain Lightning can be interrupted. He will also cast Lightning Whirl which can also be interrupted. His final ability is called Lightning Tendrils. He will fly up and follow a specific player while dealing damage around him. The targeted player needs to move away from the raid. He can be taunted during this by the tank.

That’s it for the Iron Council World of Warcraft raid strategies. The key to this is awareness, sleeping in there will get your raid killed.
