Every individual struggling with drug addiction has their own reason. There is no cookie cutter approach to this disease. However, the following are common reasons behind drug addiction.
A family history of drug addiction. This may also include alcoholism. In these cases, there are both genetic and mental/emotional elements to an individual’s susceptibility towards alcoholism.
Some people use drugs for pain relief, and this causes dependency (or addiction.)
A highly common reason behind drug addiction is an inability to cope with stress. Examples include emotional stress, peer pressure, emotional distress, anxiety, depression, environmental stress and other reasons.
Similarly, some people become addictive due to underlying psychological disorders such as post traumatic stress disorder, or attention deficit disorder.
Curiosity “killed the cat.” Children who are not well educated about drug use may become curious when confronted with the opportunity. Drug use leads to drug abuse, which leads to drug addiction.
While the reason behind drug abuse varies from one individual to the next, drug addiction almost always ends up the same way. To recover from drug addiction, one must face their personal reason.

Some people are natural loners. They sit on top of mountains or in caves and, were it not for the internet, no one would know they were alive. It’s great to be self-reliant, to know you can always get thing done without depending on others. But, for the rest of us, it’s better to be a team player. If one has a weakness, there’s someone to offer their strength. That way, we all get along and get things done.
Today’s world is a cooperative and interactive place. To get goods to the shops, we need delivery drivers. For the trucks, we need designers and people on the line to make them. For the metal, we need people to dig up the ore and refine it. And so on. Everything fits together and has its place in the big picture. So no matter how good one drug may be, it too sits in its own big picture. Ignoring the scientists do do the research and development, there has to be a system for deciding what treatments are safe and effective, and then when each different treatment should be used. That all comes down to big government to keep us safe, and then the leading doctors to set practice standards, and the hospitals to set the prices to ensure they may their profit while treating us, and the nurses who monitor our response to each treatment and whether we are making good progress towards a cure. Or if you’re at home, you get to do you own decision-making based on what you’ve heard and read. You nurse yourself, deciding whether the treatment is working as you expect and changing treatment strategies if you think something else might be better.
In every case, it all comes down to a simple fact. One-trick ponies are only good for that trick. Every time you take the same drug, your body is adapting to it. You build up tolerance for that drug. It starts to become less effective. So the only choice you have is either to increase the dosage until that also loses its effect (but by then you may be addicted), or you change to a different drug, or you give up drugs and try something else.
A carpenter has many tools available. If he or she only used a hammer, this would limit productivity. It’s the same with treatments for whatever illness you have. Doctors have an entire toolbox of different drugs and therapies. Common sense says you should make the best choice of strategies for whatever illness you have. So, when you are in pain, it may be quick and easy to reach for Tramadol. There’s no better way of making the pain go away. But why was your first response not to ask for the cause of the pain? Diagnosis is the first step. Then you treat the underlying problem and the pain is reduced or goes away. Tramadol interrupts the pain messages from the damaged part of your body. It does not cure the damaged part of your body. So before you reach for the painkiller, ask what other treatments play on the same team.
1. Hay fever is usually an allergy to hay or grass seeds. It is usually seasonal, affecting sufferers in Spring and Summer. During these seasons do not go outside when anyone is mowing grass. The grass seeds and pollen seem to be spread everywhere by lawn mowers.
2. Wear a face mask if you have to go outside on bad hay fever days. Try to prevent the allergens getting into your airways, in the first place.
3. Replace carpets with polished floors. The dust in carpets, even clean looking carpets can aggravate your hay fever.
4. If you must go outside try smearing a little petroleum jelly around your nostrils. It collects the pollen particles before they get into your airways.
5. Wash your face and hands frequently. This stops pollen and dust from accumulating around your nose and mouth.
6. Get mattress and pillow covers that seal the fabric so dust mites cannot live in your bedding.
7. A dehumidifier can help control pollen, mold and pet dander. Dust mites do not like dry air so it can help any problems with dust mites, too.
8. Wipe down surfaces with bleach to kill mold spores. Household mold is a cause of some types of hay fever and can aggravate the condition.
9. Buy synthetic pillows and quilts. They can be washed in hot water and will not harbor dust mites.
10. Get plenty of rest. Hay fever causes your body to go on alert fighting the invading pollen and you will feel exhausted. Get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids and try to avoid going outside. It should only last a few months.
All of the different “types” of cancer can be deadly, that’s a given. Even though survival rates tend to be much higher nowadays than they were perhaps twenty years ago, the fact is that a diagnosis of cancer can still be a death sentence and this is especially so when it affects the most vital components of the body.
One such type of cancer that falls into this category is cancer of the blood, more commonly known as leukemia. Many people may not think of it this way, but, in simple terms, blood is the most important tissue of the body.
It is effectively the conduit that connects all the other organs and tissues of the body together, carrying and supplying oxygen and other vital elements to even the remotest parts of the body. Bloods importance to the body cannot be over estimated.
So, the most dangerous feature of leukemia is that is attacks the blood which then has access to all of the bodies other organs, including the all brain, heart, kidneys and liver. Thus, the cancerous cells are spread throughout the body by the very blood that is normally the key to good health, in a leukemia sufferer.
To take this analogy one stage further, blood cancer specifically targets the leukocytes or the “white blood corpuscles” of the blood, which are the very ones that usually protect the body from external infections. Thus, the body’s immunity from, or resistance to, external infections is dramatically reduced in a leukemia sufferer. Such blood cancer causes the body to produce infected and abnormal cells that hinder the function of blood (i.e. the transport of oxygen around the body) rather than helping it.
It is common for a leukemia sufferer to become anemic, and to lose weight, because the cancerous cells are unable to adequately the hemoglobin, the body’s chief source of iron.
As a consequence, the blood cancer patient tends to lose all vitality and energy, and becomes especially vulnerable, because the infected blood tends to cause the brain to start to malfunction to some extent.
Exposure to raised levels of radiation is a prime proven cause of leukemia. Likewise, children born with Downs Syndrome have a raised probability of suffering blood cancer, and benzene (an industrial hydro-carbon) is also cited as a cause.
However, the slightly better news is that the abnormal cells are easily detected under the microscope, and a timely bone marrow examination should confirm these microscopic tests.
Chemotherapy, whilst it can be extremely painful, is nevertheless still the most effective method of killing the cancerous cells, although any patient undergoing such treatment should be prepared to have to ingest an unholy alliance of chemicals that he (or she) needs to take.
Similarly, radiotherapy can be effective also, with various unpleasant side effects, such as hair loss and poor skin quality whilst undergoing treatment.
Although it is undoubtedly one of the most deadly forms of cancer, leukemia is nevertheless treatable and indeed curable, and extensive research into more effective treatment is a constantly ongoing fact.
Methods like a bone marrow transplant, which may be required at a later stage, are also effective in treating the patient.
Sildenafil or the Blue Pill as we know it is the brainchild of pharmaceutical giant Pfizer. This drug is also sold under different brand and generic names, depending on the company it was manufactured by under the license. However, most users have heard about the Blue Pill that is widely advertised on the Internet unlike most other drugs of its kind. Sure, there are other medications that compete with Sildenafil such as Levitra and Cialis. However, Pfizer’s drug was the first to be so aggressively advertised as the Blue Pill, and the company pays good commissions for online vendors to promote this drug through different means. That’s why almost any online drugstore offers Sildenafil at a very good price and there’s no problem ordering this drug online.
Sildenafil is widely known as Viagra for most users and online shoppers. The main purpose of this drug is to treat erectile dysfunction in men. However, before it has become the first and the biggest drug for treating impotence, it was studied as a treatment for chest pain. It was during the clinical trials that the researchers have observed the amazing effect of Sildenafil, as male test subjects reported improvement in their erectile functions. Even those who were diagnosed as impotent have told that they experienced erections after taking the test drug. That’s how Pfizer got ahead in the race for the first male impotence treatment – by accident.
Viagra works by stimulating the blood flow into the penis, which results in harder and more durable erections. If being more specific, it blocks the PDE-5 enzyme which is responsible for returning the penis into its flaccid state after ejaculation. When there are initial problems with blood flow, this enzyme makes it impossible to achieve a firm erection and it needs to be blocked in order to allow strong erection to form. That’s what Sildenafil is used for.
Viagra was introduced to the market in 1998 and approved by the FDA the same year. So it was the first medication to be approved for treating erectile dysfunction in men and got well ahead its closes competitors. Cialis and Levitra were introduced only in 2003, so the Blue Pill had five years to make a market and conquer it. And it did. Moreover, Pfizer’s product was the first drug to be so aggressively advertised on the web and it has literally created the entire industry of online drugstores we have today. So it’s really hard to underestimate the impact and importance of Sildenafil for the current online pharmaceutical industry.
Until now, Pfizer’s product is ranked number one in sales volumes and income earned among medications for male impotence, despite the fact that there are more identical drugs penetrating the market each year. It is estimated that within the first two years after it has been available for sale, Sildenafil has earned Pfizer over $1 billion in clean income and you can imagine how many men were buying the drug back then. Today most men still prefer the Blue Pill over its competitors because it is a legendary name that made its way even into popular culture.
When facing pain in any of its forms there are a lot of medications to choose from. However, what most people do not understand is the fact that different drugs are applied in different situations, and choosing the right painkiller might be not as simple as it seems. So it’s important to understand what kind of effects each type of analgesics delivers and where it could be applied. That’s exactly what you will find in this brief description of common painkiller types. So here are the most common types of analgesic drugs you will find in your local pharmacy:
Acetaminophen
It is one of the most commonly used over-the-counter medications for pain management. Acetaminophen can be found just anywhere and it’s a really cheap drug that gives you first aid assistance in case of mild to moderate acute pain. However, it’s not very effective for relieving severe or chronic pain. It is important to respect the right daily dosage with this drug, since it can lead to liver and kidney dysfunctions if taken in excess or for longer period of time. Avoid taking it with alcohol. And take not that acetaminophen is a very common component in other medications as it can be found in hundreds of prescription and non-prescription drugs. So read the label carefully when using any drugs in order to avoid an overdose with acetaminophen.
Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
NSAIDs such as ibuprofen are commonly used to reduce inflammation and calm acute pain associated with it. These drugs help with chronic inflammatory conditions such as arthritis. However, they aren’t typically regarded as painkillers since their main purpose is to address inflammation rather than relieve pain. Still, many patients with inflammatory conditions use NSAIDs and find them very effective for relieving painful symptoms.
Narcotics
Narcotics pain relievers (opioids and opiates) are the most effective drugs when it comes to addressing severe pain rapidly and effectively. There are different types of narcotics, ranging from very potent drugs like Dimedrol that are only used for relieving pain after surgeries to drugs like Ultram that are commonly used under prescription. However, with narcotic painkillers the right dosage is crucial, otherwise you risk experiencing side effects or developing dependency. So it’s highly discouraged to take drugs like Ultram without your doctor’s consent and exceeding the typical dosage. It may harm your health.
We all are used to drinking coffee and consuming caffeine-containing products to keep our energy levels high. But it turns out that it does more than just that. Recent medical studies have observed that caffeine can stimulate hair loss and slow down hair loss, even if applied topically to the affected area.
But before we go further into the study, let’s first explain the natural hair growth cycle so you could better understand the problem in question. Our head in general normally has about 85% of hair going through the growth stage (which usually lasts between 2 and 6 years) and the remaining 15% being in the resting stage. In between there’s a transition stage that takes a week in average during which the hair follicle’s size is reduced and the hair shifts from the growth to resting stage.
The study aimed at learning the effects of caffeine on hair loss conducted by Dr. Fisher at the University of Jena involved patients who were suffering from the early stages of androgenic alopecia, also known as male pattern hair loss. As the name suggests, this form of hair loss occurs primarily in men and involves a gradual hair thinning and balding in the hairline and crown areas of the head. There were four different groups of study participants, using placebo, typical nutrients, testosterone and caffeine.
The main surprise during the study was that caffeine was very effective in reducing the effects of DHT. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is a specific hormone derived from testosterone, which when in abundance starts to shrink hair follicles and cause hair loss. Today it is seen as the main factor contributing to male pattern hair loss and drugs like Propecia are aimed at preventing the development of DHT in the body in order to stop hair loss. So it appeared that caffeine may provide the same effects as Propecia.
The only problem was finding a way for applying caffeine to the affected area, since the main research was done in laboratory test tubes. After experimenting, it was found that topical application allows for the caffeine to be absorbed into the skin. Scientists have added caffeine into shampoo and it was found that it takes at least two minutes for the caffeine to be effectively absorbed into the skin for the desired effect. Most of test subjects suffering from male pattern hair loss have shown improvements with a moderate dose of caffeine added into their typical shampoo.
However, if you’re thinking about your daily coffee intake for the sake of hair loss treatment, you’re going the wrong way. High doses of caffeine consumed internally have been observed to actually worsen hair loss. So it’s only a matter of topical application with the right dosage. There are a lot of additional studies to be made as it’s still unclear how exactly caffeine affects the hair follicle and what’s the mechanism behind it. So don’t rush to switching Propecia for coffee-based shampoos you might find on the Internet, since no-one knows how these new products will actually affect your hair condition.
If you are struggling with problems in the bedroom, then you know full well how debilitating this can be on the rest of your life. When sex is going well, life is great and you don’t think about it. But when it’s not well…it seems to be all that you can think about. This very fact is not as casual as you may think however, as research indicates that men that experience healthy and active sex lives, at any age, will live a longer life. This fact is easy enough to accept when sex is going great, but when it’s not, and when it feels like you have no control over the problem, it can be pretty scary. The truth is that when it comes to erectile dysfunction (ED) in men, the problem IS scary. Studies indicate that in many cases, erectile dysfunction is a sign of other health problems. And as such, treating your ED can help you treat any underlying health problems. That being said, it only makes sense that treating ED will not only lead to a better sex life, but also to a longer and healthier life as well.
Research on how an erection works shows us that an erection for men can only occur when blood flow is moving adequately to the penis. Contrary to myths or opinion, ED is not a result of ejaculation issues or a low sex drive. ED is almost strictly a problem of blood flow to the penis, and you will want to find out why that blood flow is being restricted enough to cause your ED. Often times, testing will show that penile blood flow is affected by a number of factors including smoking, drug use, cardiovascular function, low testosterone, hypertension, and in many cases, even diabetes. While it may seem to you that dealing with ED is a problem big enough in itself, as you can see, dealing with ED may mean you only have other problems to deal with.
In addition, the emotional toll that ED takes on a man can be debilitating as well. ED can lead to anxiety problems, depression, low self esteem, and high stress levels. It should only make sense then that by alleviating conditions like anxiety and depression by treating ED, that you would live a longer life.
If you think then that you are dealing with erectile dysfunction, the first person you want to talk to is your doctor. Your doctor will comfort you by assuring you that you are one of millions of men that this has happened to, and will work to create a treatment plan that works best for you…and that nobody needs to know about. Testing should be done to ensure you are not coping with other health problems as well, and emotional problems like anxiety or depression should be addressed.
In addition, you may want to try ED medication such as Levitra to combat the issue of blood flow to your penis. ED medications that are available today are well proven to be effective relief to the embarrassment and anxiety that encompasses ED. Medication like Levitra is taken on an as needed basis, to ensure that you can hop back in the saddle and begin performing optimally again. It may at first seem like a silly notion that Levitra could add years to your life, but when you consider the toll that erectile dysfunction has on your overall quality of life, isn’t it at least worth a try?
There’s a lot of hype surrounding generic drugs these days. Many online and real world drugstores carry both brand and generic variations of the same drugs, providing the customer with the choice of buying more expensive and less expensive drugs for the same purpose. Some say that generics are just as effective as branded variations and there’s no real sense in overpaying for a well-known name when you get the same benefits from a small drug producer that sells his pills for a really affordable price. Other advocate the use of branded drugs stating that the quality control at big enterprises is superior to that of smaller drug manufacturers from third world countries, and the risk of ending up with poor quality drugs in the cases of branded variations is virtually absent. Who’s right and who’s wrong in this never-ending debate?
Let’s take an example of a popular ED drug Cialis. It’s one of the most recently introduced drugs for treating erectile dysfunction in men and is by far the most effective, hence very popular among those struggling with impotence. Cialis has reached in popularity the legendary Viagra that created the whole market of ED pills in 1998. Viagra already has a wide range of generics sold through the Internet that cost a fraction of what you would pay for a typical blue pill in your local pharmacy. However, Cialis has also entered this race for diversity as more and more online vendors offer third party generic variations of the Weekend Pill. Many customers get interested in the low price of such drugs and question whether they can safely purchase such medications without risking their health.
When it comes to production of generic variations of famous drug brands including Cialis, people often worry about the chemicals used in the process. It may come as a surprise for most readers, but the biggest part of the raw chemicals that both the large pharmaceutical corporations and small third world drug producers use when manufacturing drugs come from the same factories in China and South-East Asia. So your brand drug and its generic variation could virtually be produced from the same batch of ingredients coming from the same source.
The low price of generic drugs is another questionable moment that makes many buyers get suspicious. But the reasons here are purely economical. When a large pharmaceutical company develops a new drug it invests millions and even billions of dollars into research, development and marketing. In order to reimburse the costs, big producers set a higher price that allows them to return their investments with some profit. Small producers, on the other hand, do not invest their own money in research or marketing. They just take the formula that was already developed earlier and produce the same drug without the added cost of research, development and marketing. As a result, generic drug manufacturers can set a much lower price on their products in order to gain some profits if compared to large corporations that have to reimburse their initial costs.
But in the end, it’s up to you to decide whether to buy generic Cialis or take the branded variation. You know the reasons behind the difference in price, so it’s your own decision to make when ordering drugs online or buying from your local pharmacy.
Explaining the dangers of using alcohol with a wide range of pharmaceutical products is something that doctors deal on a regular basis. Many people seem to be quite careless about the effects of mixing drugs and alcohol, while in certain situations such a mix could be very harmful to health if not lethal. In other cases, the effectiveness of the drug can be altered, or it can cause faster intoxication with alcohol than normally. So what will happen if you take Tramadol with alcohol?
Both alcohol and Tramadol (as well as its generic variations such as Ultram) are acting as central nervous system depressants, which means that both these substances affect the brain and make it work slower. Also, these substances can lead to respiratory depression characterized by shallow breathing. So it’s evident that taking Tramadol in conjunction with alcohol isn’t a good idea since it will cause serious side effects that you wouldn’t expect from these substances if taken separately. Make sure to not consume alcohol before or after taking Tramadol for pain relief.
Certain side effects will occur if you still choose to combine these two substances. So don’t be surprised if you experience any of the following after taking Tramadol together with alcohol:
- Seizures
- Strange behavior
- Memory issues
- Drowsiness
- Dizziness
- Coordination problems
- Shallow or infrequent breathing
- Passing out
The effects of alcohol will also get stronger after taking Tramadol. It will be very likely that you will get intoxicated from a smaller amount of alcohol much faster than you normally do. This is why any prescription label will indicate that people who are intoxicated with alcohol at the moment should never use Tramadol until alcohol has cleared off from the body.
Though, it is recommended to avoid combining alcohol with Tramadol, you should also avoid ceasing alcohol or Tramadol consumption in an abrupt manner. Patients who are going through alcohol withdrawal and recovery should also avoid taking Tramadol because it will increase the risk of seizures. Stopping Tramadol use abruptly will also lead to withdrawal symptoms similar to those of alcohol withdrawal. That is why it is not recommended to try to withdraw from alcohol or Tramadol on your own without the help of qualified healthcare specialist.
Discussing alcohol and Tramadol consumption with your healthcare provider isn’t anything you should be ashamed of. Especially when it comes to alcohol. If your alcohol consumption interferes with your health conditions you should inform your doctor too. If you tend to consume moderate amounts of alcohol your doctor will help you work out a schedule for different situations when there’s a risk of combining alcohol with Tramadol. Keep in mind that Tramadol is a very effective medication for managing acute pain, and shouldn’t be used for other purposes unless prescribed by your doctor. Consult with your doctor if it’s safe for you to take this drug in general and make sure to avoid alcohol intake while using Tramadol. There’s nothing wrong about drinking alcohol in moderate amounts, but doing so in conjunction with Tramadol will harm your health.
