1. Miami Dolphins- Chris Long DE UVA
The Dolphins will look closely at Ellis and Dorsey here, but end the end Long will be the man taken. The defense is getting too old and youth is needed ASAP.
2. St. Louis Rams- Glenn Dorsey DT LSU
Combined with Carriker, the Rams will rebuild their front 4 stronger and younger.
3.* Atlanta Falcons- Darren McFadden HB Arkansas
A small part of me wants to believe Michael Vick will be back after next season. And if that’s the case, combining Vick with McFadden could be deadly. Either way Chris Redman played fine down the stretch and you can always take a QB in round 2 if you absoulutely need to develop one along with D Mac.
4.** Oakland Raiders- Sedrick Ellis DT USC
The best player at the Senior Bowl gets to fill right in for Warren Sapp. They wont even miss big 99.
5.** Kansas City Chiefs- Jake Long OT Michigan
They have to replace Willie Sheilds among others. We saw what this man did for Mike Hart, can he do the same for LJ?
6. New York Jets- Vernon Gholston DE OSU
The Jets are LUCKY they are still going to get a great player at 6. Gholston is just what the doctored ordered for this defense.
7. New England Patriots (from San Francisco 49ers)- Dan Connor LB PSU
Hear me out. The Pats do have a lot of free agent corners but those needs can be met later in the draft or in free agency. A coach like Belichick is always going to take the player that fits best in his system over anyone else and that is exactly what Connor is. A smart sure tackler who is two decades younger than Junior Seau.
8. Baltimore Ravens- Ryan Clady OT Boise State
This is where the draft gets interesting. The Ravens can go a lot of ways, but they need a OL in the worst way.
9. Cincinnati Bengals- Keith Rivers LB USC
The Bengals have had terrible picks at LB the last few years with AJ Nicholson and David Pollack. Get it right finally.
10. New Orleans Saints- Leodis McKlevin CB Troy
I can outrun Jason David. Not good.
11. Buffalo Bills- Malcom Kelly WR Oklahoma
The Youtube rapping sensation gets to collab with Money Lynch for his next track.
12. Denver Broncos- Chris Williams OT Vandy
They need to protect Cutler, why not take a guy who has experience doing JUST THAT?
13. Carolina Panthers- Kenny Phillips S The U
I think Matt Moore played well enough to justify passing on a QB. Kenny Phillips is the pick.
14. Chicago Bears- Matt Ryan QB BC
Matty Ice gets to take over for Grossman.
15. Detroit Lions- Mike Jenkins CB USF
Dre Bly is gone, so they need another player who can fulfil guarding the opposing team’s #1 WR.

You may be wondering if there even are signs of cocaine use or common symptoms that people display when they are using this drug. The fact of the matter is that there are many signs of cocaine abuse that, if you are aware of them, can be very useful in determining if someone is using cocaine.
The first thing that you need to aware of is that there is no 100% certain way to determine if a person is abusing drugs other than confronting them with a drug test. However, as I have said, if you know the signs of the addictive behavior, you will have a leg up on determining this question.
So, what are the common signs of cocaine use? There are several and I’d like to discuss the top three.
1. Loss of weight. Cocaine is a powerful stimulant that will limit a person’s appetite. Because of this people who are regular cocaine users do not consume enough calories to maintain their weight. As a result when a person starts using cocaine they can lose a significant amount of weight. If you suspect a person of using cocaine and they are quickly losing weight, that is not a good sign.
2. Staying out at night. Cocaine is a drug that is most often consumed at night. What this means is that a person using cocaine will often disappear for many hours at night and come back home very late or be gone for several days. When a cocaine user is using their drug they will lose all concepts of time and they will continue to use well after the point when they should call it a night. Therefore if someone is out until 4 AM frequently, they may be abusing cocaine.
3. Nose problems. Most people who use powder cocaine consume it through their nasal tissue, meaning that they inhale it. Because most cocaine addicts will use large amounts of the this drug, damage to the mucus membrane of the nose is sure to follow. Cocaine users often report having nose bleeds or runny and stuffy noses for days after their last using binge. So, pay attention to a person’s nose if you suspect them of using cocaine. However, you should be aware that if the person you suspect is injecting or smoking their cocaine (in the form of crack cocaine) then this sign will not apply.
You want to know about the normal blood sugar range? I can understand why.
Living outside the range means tearing your body down slowly in the short run. And the effects can lead to kidney failure, blindness and worse in the long run.
But that doesn’t have to be your story. There’s a lot you can do if you catch it early.
Here’s a chart for your normal blood sugar range. Make sure you read the warning at the end.
Waking range (after a night’s sleep but before breakfast): 80-120
Before meals: 80-120
120 minutes after meals: 170 or lower
Before bed: 100-140
Sleeping: 70-110
Fasting: 70-100
Of course there are caveats:
Always consult your doctor.
Also, there are LOTS of things in your life that can change the blood glucose you measure with meter – these can include exercise, mood, menstruation, and others.
So if you’re wondering, get your hemoglobin A1c checked. That will give you a better idea of your long run blood sugar count.
Here’s your warning: You don’t want to go above 170 mg/dl. Typically 180 mg/dl is when the glucose (blood sugar) starts to spill from your blood into your urine. That’s an indicator that some pretty unhealthy high blood sugar effects are taking place in your body.
1. Your kidney is getting overwhelmed. Sugar is in your urine because the kidney can no longer filter it out.
2. Your eyes may be suffering. They’re absorbing water to dilute the sugar. They’re swelling and can get damaged.
3. Your muscle and fat cells aren’t getting the energy they need and you’re getting weaker.
4. Some people are tearing down muscle and fat cells to get at the glucose in them. But it’s not working. The glucose goes into your urine and gets peed away.
5. Some people (women) may be having frequent vaginal infections as the fungus and yeast in your system feeds off the excess sugar in your blood, sweat, and other secretions.
The long and short is that if you are habitually outside the normal blood sugar range, you need to stop these high blood sugar effects before they do any more damage.
Step 10 of the 12 step recovery program.
Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
In short, it makes sense that after seeing the cause of your pain, seeing your defects of character to go out and do those things again, it will only lead to more heartache, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, eating, spending, gambling etc. I expected everything to change overnight, but it did not, but it did change slowly, those fears that tortured me were not torturing me so much. Those resentments would kick in again, a scream that those people deserved what they got or how could that person say or do that to me (self-pity). What I did have was a little thought that if I looked at defects and became willing to change, things must get better!.
If you break your leg, you know you did it. You are taught by the doctor what you must do in order for those bones to knit together again!. You know the cause, you know the effect and you know the solution. But the leg is still broken!. So, this is where I see step 10 doing the business!. In short, we practice opposites, when fear tells you to turn back; you go forward and face it. When resentment starts justifying its presence, just look at your defects, and look at your reactions!. When the past re- emerges, as it will and guilt bites at you again, say “my Higher power forgives me” so don’t believe those guilty thoughts, look for the good, think, “That was then, this is now”.
Things from the past will pop into the mind at the strangest of times. Just write it down and look at it, just as you did in steps 4 and 5. When the depressing feelings come back, say, “You have been here before, so do your business and go when you’re ready”.
Continuing to take an inventory does not mean that you become self-obsessed, it means, just look, observe, but don’t get involved with those thoughts that say, “The best way not to fail is not to try”. The S.A.S, their motto is, “Who dares wins” a spiritual motto is, “Who cares wins”.
I get ratty at times but I say I am sorry promptly, and let that be the end of it. If you are feeling resentful, fearful or angry say, “What is going on in my life?”. “What has changed between now and the last time you were happy?”, “What is going on in your life?”..

Drug Rehabilitation centers play a significant role in helping people recover from drug addiction and bring their lives back to normal again. Doctors play an important part in drug rehabilitation centers by helping even those patients to recover from alcohol and drug addiction who otherwise thought they were incurable. It is extremely difficult for an individual to recover from addiction without medicines or treatment. At the same time, just the thought of going to a rehabilitation center may seem very threatening to the drug addict. This situation may be avoided to some extent if they have a better idea of what to expect when they enter a drug rehabilitation center.
Every Rehabilitation Center is Unique…
There are several types of rehabilitation centers and most of them might be unique in one way or the other. Drug rehabilitation centers address both physical as well as psychological aspects of alcohol or drug dependence. Doctors prescribe some medicines to help the patient tackle withdrawal symptoms better. This step is important in addressing physical dependence on drugs. Doctors consider it as a vital and challenging task since this is the first step in breaking patients’ alcohol or drug addiction. It is believed addicted people develop chemical dependence on alcohol or drugs due to which they suffer from withdrawal symptoms.
… So are the Drug Addicts
Every drug addict is different and so are the situations around them. There are no fixed treatment methods for all of them. Group therapy and individual counseling are another important part of treatment. In group therapy patients participate in group sessions in which other addicts are also present. Since many of them have under gone various recovery stages, they can help those patients who have just started the process.
There are No Guarantees
Drug rehabilitation centers cannot, however, guarantee that the individual will completely recover after completion of his or her treatment. The time taken by patients to recover may vary with each case as well as on how long the patient has suffered from addiction. Though alcohol and drug rehabilitation programmes are similar, there are several differences as well. While withdrawal methods vary for different type of drug addiction, they are the same for alcohol irrespective of what type of alcohol the patient was addicted with.
Some drug rehabilitation programs do not even use medications to cure the patient. Rather, they use nutritional supplements to enhance the recovery process of their patients. Most drug rehabilitation programs, however, use drugs and at times anesthesia to treat the patient from serious drug addiction condition. Those who use anesthesia hire the services of specialist anesthesiologist who help the addicted person sleep during painful withdrawal symptoms.
You Need Help? That’s a huge Step Forward
If you have come to a decision that you need help with your drug addiction problem, there are several drug rehabilitation centers which provide both outpatient and inpatient services. If you are still feeling confused where to go for treatment, start by talking to your family doctor, they might be able to suggest comfortable drug rehabilitation center for you.
Vitamin E is a name for a group of fat-soluble compounds that have specific antioxidant functions. It also helps the immune system. Vitamin E works to protect vitamin A and essential fatty acids from oxidation in the cells. It also prevents the breakdown of the tissues by forming red blood cells and muscles in our body. Recent studies have found that Vitamin E can help prevent heart disease, cancer, eye disorders and cognitive decline.
Vitamin E deficiencies are rare. People who cannot absorb fat are more likely to have a vitamin E deficiency. If you are not getting enough vitamin E your muscles will be weak and your retina will deteriorate causing blindness. To make sure you are not vitamin E deficient, the recommended daily allowance for men and pregnant or nursing women is 10mg, for women 8 mg. Nuts, seeds, vegetable oils are the best sources of vitamin E. You can also find vitamin E in eggs, milk, whole grain foods, spinach, asparagus, avocado, broccoli, kiwi, and mango.
Vitamin K helps to for an enzyme needed for the blood to clot. If our blood does not clot, we would bleed to death. New research is finding that vitamin K also helps maintain bone mass.
As with vitamin E, vitamin K deficiencies are rare. When it does happen, the body cannot absorb the vitamin or after long-term treatment with antibiotics. Those with a deficiency will most likely have bruising or bleeding. Since we all need vitamin K, men and women between the ages of 14 and 18 should take 75 mcg a day, and men and women age 19 and older should take 90 mcg a day. Most of our diets are not lacking vitamin K because it is widely found in most of our foods. You can find vitamin K in leafy vegetables (broccoli, spinach, leaf lettuce, parsley, cabbage, and cauliflower) and some vegetable oils.
In order to make sure you are getting the proper amounts of vitamin E and K, taking a multivitamin is a good way to do that. It has the proper amount in each dosage. Multivitamins are a great way to fill in our nutritional gaps. No matter how well you plan your meals, you could be missing certain vitamins. A multivitamin will help you get the recommended amount of vitamins and minerals in case they are missing from your diet. Most of the vitamins in a multivitamin are water soluble, so the excess will be flushed from your system, while the fat soluble ones will remain until they are needed. Meaning that unless you are using vitamin supplements like candy that there is little chance of having too many vitamins in your system. A single good multivitamin will provide all nutrients and vitamins you need.
Vitamin E is so important because essentially it is a super anti-oxidant. In addition it strengthens your immune system and prevents cancer and cardiovascular disease. Vitamin K is so important because if we get cut, it helps the blood to clot and we can begin healing. These vitamins are found in green leafy vegetables and vegetable oils. If these foods are not in your diet, make sure you add them because they have many health benefits. Also add a multivitamin to your diet. It will fill in any nutritional gaps you may have in your diet.
Allyl propyl disulfide is the active ingredient in the onions, a component of the oil in the onion itself. The substance alone damages the red blood cells in the dog when eaten.
Being highly toxic to dogs, the toxicity to canines is dose dependent, so larger animals need to consume more onions to cause toxicity. Heinz body anemia is the condition that is caused when your dog consumes too many onion or onion products. Small, round projections that extend out from the red blood cells are known as Heinz bodies; and they are accumulations of damaged hemoglobin molecules.
Allyl propyl disulfide irreversibly breaks down the hemoglobin and permanently damages the red blood cells. Further weakening the red blood cells, the oxidative effects of the onion oil damages the surrounding membrane of the cells. The body destroys the damaged cells as a response. As the circulation of red blood cells in the body decreases in number, Heinz body anemia results.
Anemia alone can have dire consequences. Pale mucus membranes, weakness, depression, increased heart and respiratory rate, fever, vomiting and a loss of appetite are a few clinical signs. Onions are one of the few substances which may cause Heinz body anemia; others include Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and benzocaine containing topical preparations can also cause Heinz body anemia in your dog.
Imparting a reddish-brown color, the hemoglobin from the destroyed red blood cells may also appear in the urine. The loss of hemoglobin in the bloodstream that is filtered by the kidneys may cause severe kidney damage also, leading to kidney failure.
Whether the onions are raw, cooked, or dehydrated, the toxic effect is the same. Usually, several days after ingestion, the hemolytic episode occurs. Daily feeding of onions could have a cumulative effect of ongoing formation of Heinz bodies against a single exposure with a longer gap until the next onion exposure, allowing the marrow enough time to regenerate the prematurely destroyed cells.
A veterinarian should immediately see your dog that has eaten any onion or onion products. As a precaution, all dog owners should read all food labels before feeding time in case of such a risk.
Four years ago, Seattle researchers identified a protein, known as Human Epididymis Protein 4 (HE4), as being highly effective in distinguishing cancer of the ovary from benign ovarian masses and cysts. Since then additional studies have supported these initial findings, including one just published in the December 2007 edition of the journal Gynecologic Oncology.
The only commercially available test to date, that also detects proteins elaborated by ovarian cancer, is CA-125. It is most useful for following patients with known ovarian cancer, to assess how well patients are responding to treatment and to detect recurrence after treatment. The problem with CA125 as a screening test is that is it very often elevated in the presence of normal ovaries or benign ovarian cysts and tumors. In addition, CA125 is not elevated very often in early cancer of the ovary, when it is still highly curable. These two issues, render it almost useless for screening.
Just like CA125, HE4 protein breaks free from ovarian cancer cells and finds itself into the bloodstream where it can be detected. The HE4 test, which is patented by Japanese based Fujirebio Diagnostics Inc., is inching closer to FDA approval. Because expression of HE4 by normal ovarian tissue or benign ovarian masses is very low, it has far better potential as a screening test than CA125.
The latest study, headed by Dr. RG Moore, showed that HE4 was the single best marker for Stage I, or early, cancer of the ovary. An additional finding in the study was that combining HE4 and CA125 was better. Statistical analysis showed that this combination had a 76.4% sensitivity and 95% specificity, making the combination more accurate than either test alone.
HE4 is not the only bio-marker that is being investigated as an ovarian cancer screening tool. More than 30 others have been evaluated alone and in combination with CA125 by different investigators. Some of the most promising include: mesothelin, M-CSF, osteopontin, kallikrein(s), and soluble EGF receptor. Keep an eye out for all of these in upcoming breaking news. It is highly likely that we will have an effective screening tool combination for the ovarian cancer, widely known as the “silent killer”, within the next two to three years.
What would you say if I told you that I have the secret ingredient to lower your blood sugar? What, then, would you say if I told you that you probably already have this ingredient in your kitchen pantry? It’s cinnamon. That’s right! The fragrant and delicious spice you cook and bake with only during the holiday season can actually lower blood sugar in diabetics. Cinnamon is a diabetes treatment that can lower blood sugar.
Who should take advantage of cinnamon?
Type 2 diabetics who want to live a healthier and fuller life.
Type 2 diabetics who want to live longer to enjoy their friends and family.
Type 2 diabetics who want to live. Period.
What do I have to do?
Incorporate just
For every disease, known to mankind there is someone who says there is a natural treatment for it. These treatments range from very benign to absolutely bizarre. That however does not mean there is never a natural treatment for an ailment. Cinnamon and diabetes are a prime example of this, but how does it work and is it safe?
Diabetes
When you have diabetes, you have a problem with insulin and sugar. Either your pancreas is not producing enough insulin as in type one diabetes or the cells are not responsive to the insulin being produced, as can be the case with type two. There are more technical functions but this is the bottom line so to speak.
The treatments very between the two types of diabetes and their severity but the goal with both are to get adequate amounts of insulin and make sure the cells will accept the insulin in order to use the glucose or sugar in the blood stream for fuel.
Sometimes this is merely a matter of proper diet and exercise and in the case of type one insulin replacement therapy or medication. People have begun to question if there are any natural resources available to make treatment more effective, and surprisingly it looks like cinnamon may be the answer.
Since type one is based on a physical issue, the fact that the pancreas cannot produce enough insulin due to damage cinnamon therapy is not thought to be effective.
Cinnamon
It should be said up front that you need to always consult your physician before making any major changes especially when you have diabetes. That being said let’s look at how cinnamon has been shown to affect sugar levels in the body.
Studies were done at the Human Nutrition Research Center of the US Department of agriculture to study the effects of over 49 plants on insulin mimicry. The one that showed the most promise was cinnamon.
The component in cinnamon that mimics insulin is methylhydroxychalcone polymer or MHCP. This is a water-soluble chemical compound that acts like insulin in the system, increasing sugar intake of the cells. Overall, the research looks promising but it should be noted that these were laboratory tests not conducted on humans.
That was remedy by a small clinical trial conducted in Pakistan with collaboration from Dr. Anderson, the physician who was part of the laboratory tests. They took 60 people with an average age of 52 years old with at least a seven-year history of diabetes. The group was spit with half receiving placebo over a 40-day period. The results were astounding!
Testing was done of fasting blood sugar levels at the beginning and every 20 days thereafter, including 20 days after the test was complete. All the subjects who received cinnamon saw a dramatic decrease in blood sugar levels and as an added bonus LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) as well. The placebo group showed no significant change. Blood glucose levels were reduced by 17-29% over a 40-day period, and remained at 16% at the 20-day follow up with no treatment.
Downside
Taking cinnamon in high doses can result in high levels of coumarin, a blood thinner. To avoid this it may be wise to use cinnamon sticks and steep them since coumarin is not water-soluble. However, you can also get cinnamon in a supplement form that contains no coumarin, which may be the better solution.
